Overview

An established, full-service investment dealer with national reach is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead its flagship Toronto office. The firm operates as a self-clearing independent, offering wealth management, investment banking, and institutional trading services across Canada.

This role is ideal for a seasoned Investment Advisor or producing Branch Manager who combines a credible book of business with the relationship depth, industry awareness, and leadership maturity to recruit, mentor, and grow a team of experienced advisors. The position balances entrepreneurial independence with the stability of an employee-owned firm known for its long-term growth and collaborative culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruiting & Growth:
  • Drive branch expansion through strategic recruitment of high-performing advisors and portfolio managers aligned with the firm’s independent culture.
  • Leadership & Culture:
  • Lead by influence—fostering collaboration, professionalism, and a client-first mindset among a group of experienced and autonomous advisors.
  • Branch Operations:
  • Oversee day-to-day branch activity including team structure, assistant allocation, facilities coordination, and advisor support resources.
  • Advisor Development:
  • Serve as a trusted partner to advisors, helping them enhance productivity, succession readiness, and client engagement.
  • Strategic Partnership:
  • Work closely with senior leadership to shape branch strategy, recruitment plans, and long-term succession initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in wealth management as an Investment Advisor, Portfolio Manager, or Branch Manager within an IIROC-licensed firm.
  • Proven credibility and production history with a significant book of business and respected industry presence.
  • Extensive recruiting network and strong relationships across the Canadian independent dealer community.
  • Entrepreneurial, hands-on leadership style suited to managing independent professionals.
  • Deep understanding of IIROC compliance and branch operations (experience in a self-clearing environment is advantageous).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Compensation & Structure

  • Highly competitive, performance-driven package that combines a base salary, personal production income, and annual incentive aligned to branch profitability.
  • Opportunity for equity participation in an employee-owned firm.
  • Significant autonomy and flexibility, supported by a strong operational infrastructure and a proven management team.
  • Long-term career path within a profitable, growth-oriented organization.

Ideal Candidate Profile

You’re a respected industry leader with deep connections and credibility among advisors and industry executives alike. You thrive in an entrepreneurial environment where independence, integrity, and initiative drive results. Your ability to balance production, recruitment, and mentorship sets the tone for a branch built on collaboration, growth, and client excellence.
