We are partnering with a well-established and respected provincial organization in St. Johns NL who are seeking a Staff Accountant with immediate availability to start.

The ideal candidate can quickly step into a hands-on role manage full-cycle accounting responsibilities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Perform day-to-day accounting functions
• Key and process invoices and prepare and issue cheques
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Complete bank reconciliations
• Prepare accruals
• Support full-cycle accounting activities
• Provide payroll support as required
• Assist with payroll reporting and T4 preparation (nursing staff are paid through the organization)

Experience & Attributes for Success:

• Strong full-cycle accounting experience required
• Ability to hit the ground running with minimal supervision
• Experience using Simply Accounting (Sage); must be comfortable working independently in the system
• Payroll experience is a strong asset
• Comfortable working in a unionized environment
• Proactive detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities
• Willingness to take initiative; training is available but independence is essential
