Senior Analyst, Market Data Administration

Contract Term: Until end of March (potential for extension)

Location: Hybrid – 3–4 days per week onsite Toronto, ON

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Analyst, Market Data Administration to support the end-to-end management of market data procurement, inventory, entitlements, and vendor relationships. This role is central to maintaining accurate data records, managing subscription services, and ensuring seamless coordination across internal teams and external providers.

The ideal candidate brings strong market data knowledge, experience with inventory management platforms, and the ability to manage detailed operational processes with accuracy and ownership.

Key Responsibilities

Operational & Administrative Support

• Respond to daily inquiries from internal stakeholders and senior analysts regarding moves/adds/changes, inventory updates, expense allocation, and other market data administration needs.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventories of contracts, services, pricing, users, and vendor information.
• Support monthly reconciliations to ensure all market data records remain current, complete, and aligned with financial expectations.

Market Data Entitlements & Licensing

• Administer data entitlements and real-time feed permissions, ensuring users have appropriate access.
• Coordinate with internal teams to verify that all required data license documentation is approved and properly maintained.

Invoice & Cost Management

• Assist with end-to-end invoice reconciliation by comparing invoices against inventory, validating fees, identifying discrepancies, and resolving variances.
• Respond to billing inquiries from vendor accounts receivable teams and follow up on outstanding issues.
• Apply strong analytical skills to investigate cost anomalies and recommend corrective actions.

Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal partners and external vendors.
• Provide clear, informed guidance on market data analysis and administrative processes.
• Demonstrate an ownership mindset and proactively identify opportunities for process improvements.

Additional Duties

• Support broader data management initiatives within the team as required.
• Contribute to operational controls and market data database governance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience in financial services, market data operations, or consulting preferred.
• Hands-on knowledge of MDSL is strongly preferred. Experience with FITS , Calero , TRG Screen , or comparable market data expense management tools is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with major market data vendors such as Bloomberg , FactSet , global exchanges, and other financial data providers.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple complex requests simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, professional approach.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of managing highly precise data workflows.
