Job Description

Start Date: As Soon As Possible

Dawson City sits on the Yukon River in the heart of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Traditional Territory and is internationally known for its Klondike Gold Rush history. In summer, the “midnight sun” brings long, bright evenings that fuel an energetic tourism season, while gold mining continues to be a major part of the local economy. The community is also recognized as a cultural hub, with a strong arts scene and year-round events and festivals.

Overview

Northern Vision Development is hiring a seasonal Housekeeping Supervisor to support operations at the Downtown Hotel and the Eldorado Hotel. You’ll lead the daily housekeeping rhythm - keeping room readiness on track, standards consistent, and the team supported through the pace of peak season. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes being on the floor, solving problems in real time, and helping others do great work.

What Does Your Success Look Like?

  • Rooms and public areas are consistently clean, guest-ready, and aligned to hotel standards throughout the season.
  • Daily work plans are clear and realistic, with smooth turnovers from morning departures to late arrivals.
  • Housekeeping team members are trained, supported, and working safely, with expectations understood and followed.
  • Quality issues are caught early, corrected quickly, and become less frequent over time through coaching and follow-up.
  • Communication with the front desk and maintenance is consistent and practical, keeping priorities aligned and preventing avoidable delays.

What You Bring To The Role

  • 1-year of housekeeping experience (hotel experience preferred).
  • Supervisory experience is an asset; comfort leading day-to-day work and coaching others in the moment.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in standards, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear communication and a practical, team-first approach when coordinating with other departments.
  • Reliability and steady follow-through, especially during peak-season pressure.

Benefits

  • Vacation pay
  • Extended health care
  • Dental and vision care
  • Life insurance
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Language training opportunities
  • Accommodation may be available.
